How Alibi Night Works
Traditional murder mystery kits require 40 pages of printing, awkward spoiler envelopes, and a host who can't play because they know the killer. Alibi Night transforms party deduction into a live phone-orchestrated experience.
Choose a Scenario & Get a Code
The host selects a mystery template from our catalog (such as The Last Guest of Thornwood Manor). Tap Create Party to generate a unique 6-character party room code. The host doesn't need to read any spoilers—you are playing along as an equal detective.
Friends Join Instantly
Guests open their phones, visit alibinight.com/play, and punch in the 6-letter room code. No mandatory app store downloads, no account setup friction for guests. Everyone gets assigned their suspect identity in real time.
Synchronized Rounds & Private Clues
Each investigation proceeds across 3 distinct rounds. When the round timer starts, atmospheric audio chimes and phones vibrate. Each player receives exclusive evidence, secret conversations, and motives. Decide whether to share your secrets or bluff to protect your alibi.
The Accusation Ballot
When time expires, the accusation ballot opens on everyone's screen. Pick your prime suspect, select the murder weapon, and type your deduction rationale. Ballots lock simultaneously—no peeking at other votes.
The Grand Reveal & Scoring
The app reveals the true culprit, the chain of evidence, and the mastermind's breakdown. Points are calculated instantly (50 pts for culprit, 30 pts for weapon, 20 pts for motive) to crown the Master Detective.
